Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 1.11.38 PMAs the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, Jessica Lange has everyone buzzing. Not because she’s unattractive (actually, she’s unbelievably stunning), but because she’s 66-years old.

The totally successful beauty line revealed Lange as their cover girl on Wednesday, and the media has been focused on it since. We would be lying if we didn’t say that we, too, are obsessed with this campaign. While Jacobs has been known to push the envelope with his marketing, we were surprised and refreshed with the choice in cover girl.

In the sneak peak photo, Lange’s heavy eye-liner and moody-gray shadow comes off a bit eerie. With a shadow on her face, she stares intently out of a dimly lit room. And, a subtle peach, nude lip gloss pulls everything together. In short, the look plays off of her American Horror Story characters without compromising her beauty. She truly looks absolutely spectacular.

With most designers plastering models in their twenty-somethings all over their campaigns, we often forget how beautiful age really is. In this situation it’s hard to decide who to really credit — Marc Jacobs for choosing the cover girl, or Jessica Lange for completely rocking it.

Jacobs isn’t the first designer recently to choose a cover girl over the age of 60. Nars enlisted 68-year-old Charlotte Rampling to lead their 20th anniversary campaign and Diane Keaton, also 68-years-old, models for L’Oreal. We’re hoping this is the start of something new (or old?) in the fashion world.

Cheers to these ladies, for inspiring all of us to embrace our beauty, regardless of how old we are.
